Chess960 aka Free Stye Chess comes to SNVCC! Our first tournament will be Saturday, July 12 2025 @ 12:30pm. USCF Membership is NOT required. Notation is NOT required. This tournament is unrated. See details in the registration link

Membership Program – Join Now!
We are now offering a Membership Program to our members. Membership entitles paid members to receive $10.00 off any single tournament each month. If you play one tournament each month, you’ll receive a total of $120 discount. In addition, we started Casual Chess every Friday night on a weekly basis (excluding some weeks for scheduling conflicts). We also plan to hold a Casual Chess session on at least one weekend day each month. The cost will be $7 each time but the fee is included in Membership benefits for all Paid Members. The annual membership fee is $100.00. For two or more players in a household (e.g. siblings or parent/children), the annual membership fee is $150 for up to 4 household players. While paying the annual membership fee is optional, please consider that by becoming a paid member, you will be helping to ensure SNVCC continues to grow and expand. Join Now!


Weekly Casual Chess at Southern Nevada Chess Club. Free for members! $7.00 all others. First time free. Fridays 6:00pm-8:45pm. Note: Some scheduling conflicts will pre-empt occasional Friday activity.

We now have two Crokinole Boards! Players attending weekly Casual Chess And Socializing may play Crokinole.

Chess960 aka FreeStyle

Our first Chess960 Tournament. Unrated. Join us for a tournament of four games of Free Style Chess. Random starting positions will be announced 5-10 minutes before each round.

Prizes for first and second place winners. See registration link for details.

Crokinole and Cornhole at SNVCC

We now have TWO Crokinole boards and a Cornhole set for our players’ enjoyment during Casual Chess and Socializing.

July Series

July Rounds: Thursdays: July 10, 17, 24, 31. No game on July 3.


With enough players for July in two ratings groups, we can have multiple sections. Otherwise, all players compete in one section.

The series is limited to players with ratings above 900. We play one round each night for a total of four rounds. Fee: $50 in advance. Add $2 for Venmo/Paypal$2 with cash or personal check.

Sun. June 29 @ 1pm

June’s next monthly Beginner and 700+ single-day Tournament for adults and kids. Multiple sections will be created based on a sufficient number of similarly-rated players. With too few players to create multiple sections, all players will merge into one section. Entry fee: $27. Save $2 with cash or personal check.

NCA and SNVCC Summer
Scholastic Tournaments

We are teaming up with Noble Collegiate Academy again this summer to provide Friday tournaments to kids ages 6-13. Players must be members of USCF but first-timers are welcome and we can help players signup for USCF. Time controls and format will be determined by number of players.

Casual Chess

NOTE: No Casual Chess, Crokinole, and Socializing on June 27

Join us for our weekly Casual Chess night. We may also have other board games like Crokinole.
Fee: FREE for Paid members. All others: $7.00

Registration not required but please email us to let us know if you plan to come.

If there are no players present before 7:00pm, we will close early that night.
